Peasant Blouse in Chiffon

March 10, 2013

I LOVE this sweater!  Absolutely crazy over it!  It's so dang PRETTY!  It was quite a bit of a knit on tiny little needles and fingering weight yarn, but so worth it.  I went into detail on my Ravelry page if you want to know how it is constructed which is quite ingenious.  Knitting this was the perfect combination of the right pattern combined with the right yarn complimented with the right needle.  Don't you love it when the knitting experience connects so well?

This sweater seems to me more like a blouse than a sweater, guess it's the loose fit and the fine fabric.  I wore it today with a grey pencil skirt, but am on the hunt for a swingy print skirt that will be fun to wear for Easter.  I always try to make a pretty new sweater for Easter and think this will be it.  (Although I am making Baileys Irish Cream in a cream silk and that might be a contender for Easter too!)

The 100% wool yarn is called Highland, a fingering weight in Chiffon, a soft seafoam color from the Danish company, Isager.  I am just loving this yarn and their patterns.  They have the prettiest booth at Stitches West, plus my LYS carries a good selection.  This is my second time using Highland and just love the rustic elegance.   I'm also working on another sweater, Relax, in another Isager yarn, a fingering weight alpaca/merino blend in a beautiful dark steel blue.

Well my dears, until next time....take care and stay well.
