I'd like to share my most recent test knit, or preview knit as Brooklyn Tweed calls them. The pattern arrives complete and they ask for knitters to knit it up in any yarn or color (as long as you get gauge) to show other knitters the possibilities of one pattern. I've test/preview knit for BT many times and my experience has always been positive.

Hello! I have a new knitted hat to share today, knit by me for me, but my grandson was kind enough to stand underneath the wisteria and be my adorable model. The hat is knit is DK weight and as it's a hat it doesn't take much yardage and was knit using scraps that I already had on hand.

I thought it would be fun to share my Ravelry favorites from the last few weeks. I troll Ravelry every day looking for treasures, and if you don't have the time for that, don't worry, I'll do it for you! My plan is for every few weeks to share my "best of Ravelry". I'm excited for this first edition, so let's go!
Glastonbury by Sophie Ochera. I HAVE to make this. I don't love stranded work all that much and it's knit bottom up (sad face) but still this does look easy enough and it's just too gorgeous to pass up, plus it's knit with Brooklyn Tweed Loft, one of my favorite yarns. The pattern is a bit more expensive than other patterns, but this is a Brooklyn Tweed pattern and their reasoning for their higher prices is that they want to give their designers a fair wage. I think that's fair enough. BT patterns are always well written and come in a large range of sizes. Unisex. |

Our Japanese wisteria floribunda is at its most amazing right now and in fact we have never seen it look this beautiful. There are easily hundreds and hundreds of racemes, most of them 3 feet long! My pictures don't do it justice; you really have to see it to believe it. It has obviously loved all our rain. We think this will be a good garden year and I hope to make a few garden posts this summer. I'll be sharing our rose explosion which should happen in a week or two, our vegetable garden, the herbs and annual flowers, and more. This is still a knitting blog and I have been knitting an awful lot, but in spring and summer, knitting has to share me with the garden. Please read on, there's a lot to see!
