Good morning! Today I have a new shawl to share and a July 4th craft. This is Chevronopolis designed by the talented Maxim Cyr. Ravelry tells me I started this in January of 2023 which means I've been working on it for a year and a half. It should not have taken that long but it was a "fun" knit for me, something I did not need but instead wanted to knit for the fun of it, plus I had the yarn in my stash. I'd work on it for an evening or two, then put away for a week or two, then repeat. It's very easy to pick up after ignoring it for awhile, but make sure you note which row you are on so if you come back after a month, you can jump right in.

I have the cutest knitting tote to share with you today. It's an older pattern from Martin Storey and is meant to be a child's tote, but I have enlarged it and lined it and now I've got a grown-up adorable knitting tote. I love it! This post is packed with pictures and instructions to show you how to make an easy no-seam gusset for a knitted bag, how to make a knitted in strap, and how to line it, plus I'll share how to enlarge the tote and knit it in the round. Are you ready? OK then, come on in!

Hello! I'm just back from a lovely seaside vacation where it was just chilly enough to wear my newest summer sweater, The Faceted Yoke Pullover by Mary Anne Benedetto. Here I am standing on our balcony overlooking the famous California coastline covered with its equally famous June gloom. Trust me, there is a wide sandy beach down there covered with seashells and lots of frolicking people and a beautiful blue sea and above the fog is a bright blue sky. You just have to wait a few hours for the fog to burn off and to see it all! But we're here for that sweater so let me tell you all about it!

Hello friends. Today is the first day of summer vacation for my favorite little guy and is also the first day of the week long Grammy/Papa Sleepover Camp. But today Papa is golfing and Carter is still in his pjs (it's 11:39), alternating playing with his legos, his pokeman cards, me, and watching TV. He also just ate cookies and milk. I think a very laid back day is a very perfect way to start the summer vacay because starting tomorrow we have quite a few things planned and things will get a bit busy, BUT, I have factored in many lazy mornings and afternoons and plenty of pool time and cookie breaks because I know how important it is to relax during summer vacation, even for a 6 year old. He is seriously reading now and his favorite books are the Dog Man Series and Captain Underpants. Check them out if you have a young reader. They are pretty funny.
