Woolfolk F/W 2017

September 09, 2017

This morning, Woolfolk Yarns debuted their fall/winter designs. In keeping with their design ethos of modern wearability and beauty, they have created a collection that relies on simple lines, textures, and luxurious yarns. The featured yarns are from the Woolfolk landscape of Ultimate Merino yarns that use sustainable practices and are ethically sourced.

You'll certainly recognize many of the designer names such as Olga Buraya-Kefelian (olgajazzy on Rav), Anke Wulffen (fallmasche on Rav), and Melanie Berg, and perhaps be introduced to some new designers to follow, such as Sarah Solomon, who was new to me.

Helpful links are at the end of the post.

Enjoy!

Hvide, knit in Tynd, is designed by Anke Wulffen. Translated from Danish, Hvide means white.
This is the one I am knitting first.

Rejse is knit in Far and designed by the Woolfolks Design Team.

Laene, knit in Tynd, is by Antonia Shankland.

The Kame Coat is knit in the super bulky weight, Hygge and is designed by Woolfolk Design Team.

Vejkryds Caridgan, knit in Far, is designed by the Woolfolk Design Team.

The Vandre Pullover, knit in Far, is designed by Lori Versaci.

The Gard Shawl, knit in Tynd, is also by Melanie Berg.

The Skala Shawl, knit in fingering weight Tynd, is by Melanie Berg.

Dal is knit in Far and is designed by Sarah Solomon.

The Omvej cowl is knit in Far and designed by Olga Buraya-Kefelian.

The Hoj Jat is knit in Far and designed by Olga Buraya-Kefelian.

Gren Mitts, knit in Tynd, is by Olga Buraya-Kefelian.

Get to know the Woolfolk yarns.
Of the three yarns used in this collection,
Tynd is fingering weight, Far is worsted, and Hygge is super bulky.
Translated from Danish, the names mean, thin, sheep, and FUN!

The location for this photo shoot was Saddle Peak House in Topanga, California. Set in the wild Santa Monica Mountains above the blue Pacific, just minutes from the bustle of Los Angeles, this 4 bedroom house is an Airbnb vacation rental. I can't pack fast enough, and I'd make sure to pack the yarn to make the white pullover, Hvide, first. I'd put up my feet and look at the view and knit all day.
