DeleteI couldn’t find much in the way of help on the internet either, so I followed the pattern’s instructions for the cross stitch. It’s really no different from cross stitching on fabric. I’ve done it plenty of times but never on knitted fabric. With that said, I hated how mine looked and ripped it out a few times, then tried different yarns and threads before I finally decided to do duplicate stitch. I followed Purl Soho’s directions for that: https://www.purlsoho.com/create/2007/10/28/duplicate-stitch/ It came out just “ok", so I didn’t add it to the second one and decided to add the pompoms to the back so I would at least have SOME embellishment! I have a sweater I have to do extensive embroidery on, mostly stem stitch, and for that I’m going to use a tearaway interfacing to stabilize the fabric. That might also help the cross stitching on knitted fabric.

ReplyDeleteA handcrafted heart always brings a smile. Really love the first photo of felted rings all lined up on that cute drawer piece. I crocheted a granny triangle heart bunting late last month for a swap. It's by Loopsan and while it's not a last minute kind of project, it's definitely worth the time in the end.
