Chalet Days

I love my new sweater! I love the name and pattern and the yarn, plus it was fun to knit! I purchased this pattern a few months ago, and when Rowan had a sale for 60% off Pebble Island, I knew it would be my next sweater.

Click the links for all the juicy details!

If this yarn ever goes on sale again I'll be first in line. It's gorgeous.

The pattern is very well written and has two charts, one with dark squares for the pattern if your contrasting color is dark, and another chart with light squares if your contrasting color is a lighter one like mine. I love when that is an option as it makes it so much easier to follow the chart. It was one of the easier and more intuitive charts that I've followed.

Most summer evenings we sit outside and have a glass of wine before dinner. I keep a project to work on next to my patio chair. Some years I've had an afghan to knit and one year I had a needlepoint pillow to stitch, but this cross stitch tablecloth has been my on-and-off patio companion for many years.

I put the photograph though my Waterlogue app.
It's a free app and turns any picture into a watercolor painting.
(Edited, not free anymore but is a very nominal price.)

But look! I'm almost done! Only a few dozen stitches to go!
I can surely finish this tonight and use this pretty tablecloth this autumn.

Close ups!

I hope to be back this weekend with a beautiful garden post, but in the meantime, enjoy your summer!

    1. Thank you! I was pretty worried about it but now I like it too. I showed my knitting gals and they also gave it a thumbs up so that was nice to hear.

  2. The waterlogue app I found was not free, Kristin, although still quite abargain. That was me, Chloe, in the earlier Comment.

    1. Oops. It used to be free, but I can see why they are charging for it now. It's pretty powerful.

  3. Yeah, that happens sometimes. Think I’ll get it anyway. Pretty cool:). Your color combo was my favorite on Ravelry. It’s nice that you have a group of friends that will give you feedback like that. Chloe

  4. What a beautiful sweater! I would love to purchase this yarn when it’s on sale. Will you share how to be notified of a sale and also, where did you have your beautiful labels made? I always forget to attach mine! My labels are larger but would love the smaller size label that you use. Happy Summer!

    1. Go to https://knitrowan.com/ and front and center you will see JOIN US for e-news & offers. Click on that and enter your email. They don't bombard you daily so don't worry about that! As for the labels, I bought them so long ago I cannot remember. I only put them on sweaters that are difficult to tell front from back!

  5. do you use the six strand floss for the tablecloth? do you separate into three strands to embroider. It happens I just finished a tablecloth, not cross stitch, that I had going for a number of years. I have another one in the wings.
