Merry Christmas Flax

November 10, 2018

Last night we went to our downtown Holiday Stroll. The downtown is decorated for Christmas, the lights are up and carolers are singing on every corner. The shops are open and looking gorgeous, and most of them are serving wine. It's a very fun evening.  I knew we'd run into plenty of friends, and since our grandson was coming with us, it was a perfect opportunity to show him off! I needed a Christmas sweater pronto! Flax from Tin Can Knits is perfect for a quick knit. The pattern is free, very well-written and easy to follow, and it comes in sizes from newborn to 4XL. I knit a size 2-4 years to give some room to grow. He is 15 months old and the next size down would have been a perfect fit, but I'm hoping this will fit next year too. The yarn is Malabrigo Rios, machine washable lovely lovely wool in Ravelry Red. It is scrumptious. The hat is last years hat that still fits. Here are the links:

The first stop was the toy store of course.

Last year!

    1. Thank you Sharon. I have not made one in my size, but I think I need to. I think it would be something that you would want to wear every day--something like a sweatshirt!

    1. Thank you! You should see the outtakes of the pictures I tried to take today. Staying still or posing is not something a 16 month old will do willingly.

  3. Gorgeous sweater and hats. It fits fabulously. You are such an inspiration Kristen. When ever I pick up my knitting I’m ashamed that I let any time lapse and love the feeling of moving across the stitches transformatively.
