Free Easter Felties

March 29, 2023

Usually by late March we would have planted at least part of our summer vegetable garden, but as I'm writing this it is cold and rainy and windy and not even close to our typical California spring weather. We'd never complain about getting too much rain as we're always wailing over how dry we are and how empty our reservoirs are, but not this year. While I’m waiting to start my garden I’ve been knitting and making little felt critters for my grandson to find on his egg hunt. In this post I've gathered up the cutest free Easter patterns and put the link on each picture. Enjoy!

Easy Felt Bunny from Molly and Mama
Included is a link to the instructions for the basket.

Felt Bunny Bags from Dream A Little Bigger
I cannot resist these. Won't they be fun to hide on an egg hunt?

Easter Egg Chicks from Down Redbud Drive
These are perfect for a budding sewer and I'm going to see if my grandson wants to make one of these with me. I'm hoping the simple sewing won't be too fiddly for him and the feather top will be a winner.

Felt Chickie Babies from Think Crafts

I made the duck and bunny for Carter for Easter. I'll put them inside a big paper mache egg and hide them for his egg hunt. The template, below, is low quality but I hope it's good enough quality for printing. If I take the time to hand stitch a little animal, I like to use high quality felt. Acrylic felt or craft felt is fine for children's crafts but when hand stitching, I much prefer a wool blend. My favorite felt is from Benzie. I use their wool blend and usually buy a color palette or medley palette. They have gorgeous colors and the felt fabric is high quality.

I couldn't find a source and hope this quality is good enough for you to print. It comes without instructions so you'll have to understand basic toy construction to finish.

Not felt, but check out these gorgeous wallpaper eggs.
