Alaskan Pullover offer
January 04, 2020
Hello and happy new year! I have a wonderful offer to share with you this week. I've made a new Alaskan Pullover for my grandson and the kind designer, Ainur Berkimbayeva of Mama's Teddy Bear is offering my readers a 20% discount on the pattern with the code knitionary. If you've been meaning to make this, our family's favorite baby and toddler sweater, then now is the time! The pattern has been completely rewritten and newly tech edited, is well written and fun to make. It's sized from 6 mos. to 12 years and my grandson will have a new one each year, we love it that much.
What's great about this pattern: The short row shaped hem lengthens the back to keep the bum warm (and stylish). The slightly roomy fit and higher front hem make it comfortable for an active child. There are two neck opening options, cords or zipper, making it a snap to put on and off. The fabric is knit entirely with cushy garter stitch for loads of texture. The mosaic color section is super chic and simple to execute; mosaic uses only one color per row. And it's unisex of course!
For my three Alaskan Pullovers, yes this is my third, I used the beautiful Rowan Softyak DK. The yarn is a dream to knit with and hand or machine washes beautifully and seems to stay beautiful forever; the first one I knit was worn constantly and passed on to another baby who also wore it constantly. It still looks great.

I hope you take Ainur up on her offer which is good for one week. I loved knitting this and love to see my grandson wearing it. It's my son's favorite sweater for his little boy and wishes he had one too. Ainur has hinted that in the future she might have an adult version to offer. I'll be sure to let you know!
