Do you love the minimalist style?  It certainly has taken over the knitting world and doesn’t look like it’s going away anytime soon. Whether you call it the New Nordic popularized by Danish designer PetiteKnit, or simply call it minimalist, it's been the rage in the knitting community for awhile and I hope it never goes away. The look is characterized by uncomplicated lines and streamlined shapes. Unnecessary details have been removed and the essential classic is left to shine on its own.  The patterns I'm sharing today are ideal for showcasing those beautiful yarns that are so readily available to us lucky hand knitters and will make sweaters you’ll reach fit again and again. Usually by late March we would have planted at least part of our summer vegetable garden, but as I'm writing this it is cold and rainy and windy and not even close to our typical California spring weather. We'd never complain about getting too much rain as we're always wailing over how dry we are and how empty our reservoirs are, but not this year. While I’m waiting to start my garden I’ve been knitting and making little felt critters for my grandson to find on his egg hunt. I've finished my Paul Klee sweater and I love it to bits. When I finish a sweater I seem to wear it daily for a week until it doesn't feel "new" anymore and I can finally switch it out and put it in regular rotation. But this one, I'm not sure, I might be wearing it daily for a month I love it so much. This is knit top down and is very easy stranded colorwork using just two colors at a time. If you are new to stranded colorwork this would be a good one to practice on. I know several of you want to make this and you wondered about how I came about my color choices and I'm happy to share my process with you.

Hello and happy first day of spring! We've had such cold weather lately that it doesn't feel anything like spring to this Californian. I guess I need to keep knitting sweaters! My most recent knit was a test for the sweet Finnish designer Suvi of SuviKnits. I have tested for her before, and since her patterns are perfect in every way, it's more like a preview knit. I don't think any of the testers found even so much as a typo. 

I've never had a sweater to wear on St. Patricks Day, until now! I'd just like to see a Leprechaun try and pinch me wearing this much green! I finished this ages ago and worn it to bits at Christmastime with my mother's Swarovski Christmas tree brooch firmly attached to one shoulder. I got pretty sick of it but now it's time to pull it out again. This is the Daily Pullover from Purl Soho, another one of those simple pullovers that I love to knit and wear.
