Hyphen Pullover
July 15, 2025This is a top-down design with a beautifully textured yoke, knit in DK weight yarn. The pattern includes sizes from newborn up to 10 years, and I made the largest size for my brand new 8-year-old. He's tall, so I added about an inch to both the body and sleeves for a better fit.

Beautiful child and sweater. I can't believe how grownup he looks. I remember him when he was a baby. Has it been 8 years ago already?

ReplyDeleteThank you Kirsti. So nice to hear from you!
DeleteGreat sweater. Carter is the only grandchild I know of who has his very own label on his sweaters.
ReplyDeleteThank you! LOL, yes, I decided he needed his own leather label!
DeleteThe modifications that you made really add to the character of the sweater. Beautiful job!!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I was sweating tulips at the end when I realized I was running out of yarn and when I thought of doing this little trick, I heaved a huge sigh of relief!
DeleteThe Hyphen Pullover looks like such a joyous statement—love how you’ve balanced bold graphic stripes with that cozy fit. Your photos really bring out the subtle texture and cheerful colors in every shot. I can almost feel the seaside breeze and morning light framed in each image. Thanks for sharing the pattern and inspiration—definitely bookmarking this one for a fall knit project!

ReplyDeleteI know the feeling of making small adjustments to patterns to get the perfect fit, especially when knitting for kids who grow so quickly. It’s similar to how I approach accessories for myself I look for pieces that combine both comfort and style. For example, I’ve relied on ladies leather gloves Canada made styles during long winters, since they’re warm, flexible, and durable enough to last for years. Just like with knitting, those thoughtful details in design make all the difference in everyday use.
