peonies and wisteria

These pictures were taken on Easter Sunday and the week after. Now, two weeks later the peonies are mostly gone but the wisteria is magnificent. It's a type of Japanese wisteria that has very long racemes, some as long as 48 inches. We are picking oranges daily and the first iris bloomed this morning. Next week, roses. Spring!

DeleteWhat a magnificiant garden and what beautiful peoneys and wisteria you have. I can grow wisteria but it is too hot for peoneys her in the eastern central coast. I don't mind - I can always look at yours. Thank you.

Thank you very much! Actually, peonies are not really a big garden plant where I live in Northern California either, but this is a tree peony and it seems to thrive. Enjoy your fall weather!

Please know that viewing pics of your garden feeds my soul!!! Beautiful. Did you post before photos in this batch? Just seems like a month or so ago you were waiting for blooms. Now you have a magnificent garden. I recently moved from the south (which is now experiencing a beautiful spring) to the north. I have seen a few daffodils and forsythia. We've got a way to go. Thanks for the photos.
ReplyDeleteAww, thank you! The peonies were gone in a flash. It seems no sooner are they blooming then they are gone. Not like the wisteria thank goodness. Our California springs are so early that I'm looking out the window at blooming roses!

ReplyDeleteThank you! And yes, that cutie skunk was real. We woke up early on Easter Sunday to see him digging up our lawn looking for grubs we think. We let him go at it for a while but our making coffee in the kitchen scared him off. He did not leave a smell!
