I have a new(ish) publication to share with you today, Sarah Hatton's absolutely adorable Modern Mini Knits--twelve stylish knits for babies from newborn to 18 months. After all, every little baby wants to look their best on a playdate! Most patterns are unisex and all are knit with the popular DK weight yarn. Each pattern has the yardage for using either Rowan's Summerlite DK, Softyak DK or Baby Merino Silk DK. All three yarn choices are yarns I love, use often and can highly recommend. All are baby soft friendly, easy to knit, and machine washable.

I've been collecting my own Softyak DK stash for just this sort of knitting emergency!

But I also had some Rowan Pure Wool Superwash DK in my stash and have cast on for Samson below. I have to get on with it because it's for a baby that's already born--my gf's first grandson who should be the 6 mos. size this winter.
