Color Affection

August 01, 2012

I am so happy I have an FO to share,
and it's one I love so much and enjoyed knitting so much.
Color Affection by Veera.  This girl is a genius!

The off-white yarn is 80% baby alpaca and 20% silk blend from Silver Spring Alpacas and beautifully soft.  They charcoal and red are Sebastian from Anzula, a 70/30 blend of Merino wool and seacell, also lovely and soft.  As you can see it's just huge giving many options to fling it around your shoulders.  The shawl is constructed using short rows and garter stitch.  According to Ravelry, over 5000 Color Affection shawls have been made.  Amazing.

I'm working on a summer cardigan in white pima cotton,  a winter pullover in Kid Classic and a grey shawl for my granddaughter.  I'm reading Gone Girl, love it, (and yay, I just heard it's going to be a movie) and eating lots of tomatoes, picking flowers for pretty bouquets and expecting house guests tomorrow.  Nice summer so far!  Plus, our weather is gorgeous.

  6. This is a beautiful shawl, I love how the stripes work out. Perfect size too - you can really wrap up in it! I'm jealous of your tomatoes, mine are not doing very well this year.
