living room in progress

March 07, 2012

Love the progress so far.  Almost to the finish line,
with just a rug and other details to finish.

Wall color is Temptation by Benjamin Moore.  A deep, dark smokey gray with a hint of purple.
Pieces in the buffet are from Pottery Barn and Arte Italica.

Our dining room is open to the living room separated by a wrap around built in buffet.
The reupholstered wings are backed and piped in the smokey gray fabric used on the sofas.

The finishing touches, especially the accessories have been difficult.
My designer and I are still on the lookout for some knock out pieces
for the seemingly endless wall of bookcases and niches.

Crazy about the wing chairs.  Fabric is puce and smoke Tessa from Plumwich.  I sent these pictures to the fabric designer and she put them up on her website here.  Very flattered!

I've always loved the Suessical arms on these chairs.

A view of the living room from a bad iPhone picture, but you get the idea!  Restoration Hardware stools.  We have a jute rug on it's way and it will really ground the room.

 We love our home.
We've lived here for 27 years, the second owners of a 70 year old home.
I feel the changes we've made over the years have done this old ranch house well.

When it's good and done, my son's girlfriend said she would take some pictures
for me to put on my blog.  She is an excellent photographer so I know what she does will show off this pretty space.

  1. I just love your house, and all of the changes you have made. I had to giggle at the comments your husband made at PB. He sounds just like my husband, when it comes to decorating. Keep the pix coming.
