Etive Romper

September 09, 2018

I realized I never blogged about my finished Etive Rompers for my grandson. Aren't they just the cutest? These pictures were taken early June when he was 10 1/2 months old and before he was walking. They still fit him perfectly and he wore them all summer and will continue to wear them through fall. It's my #1 favorite thing to put him in. Every time I take him downtown in them people stop me on the street to compliment! Not that I'm very proud of him or anything like that. We put the rompers in the washer and dryer and they are holding up beautifully.  I keep saying I'll make another pair as I have plenty of the Softyak DK in other colors. I think he needs them in RED!! The pattern is knit in one piece, is well-written and very easy to follow, plus it's completely and utterly adorable.

  2. These have that so-charming European look. And your grandson's adorable smile completes the picture. Such happy photos! Chloe. P.S. The yarn I used which called for the slipstitch pattern was Berocco Remix - a lovely popular yarn which no one else seemed to have trouble with. I don't want to cast aspersions on something that is unique to me! Otherwise, I love the yarn! It has so much personality.

    1. Thank you Chloe. That's what I love about so many of the new baby designs; they have an old fashioned English look that I've always loved and that is popular right now. I hear lots of good things about the Remix. I haven't used it, but maybe the needle was a problem? Sometimes if I change from woods to metals, or vice versa.

  3. Your grandson in his new romper is entirely adorable. I can see why you knit so many things for him! I can't wait until I have grandchildren and I hope my kids are reading this!
