giveaway alert!

April 25, 2017

I first saw these scissors last year at Monarch Knitting in Pacific Grove, California, fell in love, then walked out with a pair of orange Flower-Powers and a smile on my face.  How is it that a pair of scissors can make you feel happy?  But 'tis true--they are now my favorite scissors because they are miniature in size, but mighty in snipping power. They feature tiny, airplane friendly blades and therefore are perfect for your travel bag.  Plus they are completely adorable, affordable, and functional.  There are dozens of designs, and when you see them you'll want to start a collection.

Paula Sibbald, the designer and founder of Kelmscott Designs is a Canadian now living in the USA. She started her company 14 years ago when she saw that makers and crafters wanted more items to craft with.  She has always loved to doodle, and her doodles turned into scissors!  To date she has designed over 100 different scissors designs and says it is still as much fun and exciting as it was when she started. Paula's scissors are designed in the US and manufactured in Canada.

If you cannot find them at your local knitting/stitching shop, there is an excellent selection at NeedleGoods where they ship worldwide. In the meantime, Paula has graciously offered my readers a selection of her scissors as a giveaway.  Six pretty scissors--six lucky winners.   This giveaway is open internationally.  I'll pick three winners from the blog comments and three winners from Knitionary's Facebook page.  I'll keep the giveaway open for a week or so.

This giveaway is now closed.  Congratulations to the winners!

Below are some other Kelmscott Designs on the NeedleGoods website that are not in my giveaway, but are too scrumptious not to share.  The cat below with the curly tail!  Love!  I've decided that these scissors are going to be my new 2017 hostess gift and plan to purchase a little bundle of these to have on hand.

  8. Oh my...At the best of times, I love knitting, sewing, painting supplies, almost as much as I love yarns, fabrics, paint bottles and brushes. But the real thrill is when you discover a perfect gadget, in beautiful colour/colours, and exquisitely made - to go into the cache of supplies.
