the party's over

August 07, 2011

I went to sleep and dreamed I looked like this.
I woke and saw I looked like this.
Well, I still had my body parts but my face was definitely smooshed and the make-up was scary.  Those 60th birthday parties can be hell on the old body.

So my lovely friends gave me a birthday party last night.  Everything was smooth sailing, lots of good food and drink and friends.  Then I saw the cake.  Until then I hadn't really thought about being 60.  But while admiring how cute and sassy I looked in cake form, I glanced at the "60" right next to it.  What????  It really took my breath away folks.  But only for a moment.  Sixty is good.  Don't let that number ever scare you and don't think for one minute that those of us in our sixties can't kick ass, cuz we can.

Anyway, it was a great great great great great party.

Look at the cake again.  Aren't my boobs and boots great?

  2. Happy day to you! I just jumped this hurdle too. I've gotta say, this is the first birthday that's really bugged me. But, I like your outlook -- we 60's girls can still kick some booty -- with our fancy boots ;).
